Consultations
Individual or family consultations are opportunities to meet with a clinician and discuss the issues that you (or your family member) are struggling with. The appointment is usually 60 minutes and the therapist may be able to direct you to next steps. Options often include individual therapy, group therapy, self-help resources, diagnostic testing, medication consultation, or higher level of care programs.
Individual Therapy
Individual sessions are usually 55 minutes and can be scheduled once weekly or twice weekly depending on the severity of symptoms, and level of support needed. We can include family members in some of your sessions. We are also happy to coordinate care with other providers if you permit us to do so. Individual sessions can be in person or virtual. Virtual sessions take place via videoconferencing using a HIPAA-compliant platform. In order to participate in video-conferencing, you will need to be located in Rhode Island.
Group Therapy
Group sessions bring together individuals facing similar challenges. Guided by a skilled therapist, these groups provide a supportive environment to practice skills, share experiences, and reduce the sense of isolation that anxiety and OCD can create. Many clients find group work empowering and motivating as they see they’re not alone.
Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy
VRET can be a great way to overcome your fears. Some of the most common fears that can be effectively treated using this technology include: fears of driving, flying, heights, public speaking, taking tests, needles, blood, insects, animals. Virtual Reality can also be a great way to learn mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
